Hello to all my readers,

Every week, I will write an article about a group or a singer from rock. I want you to know this style better and to start listening to it.

So, this week I’m gonna introduce the rock music with an icon, Bill Haley.

I hope and I’m sure that you already have heard his name.

Bill Haley was born in 1925 and died in 1985. He was a pioneering American rock and roll musician. He is considered with his group “his comets” as those mens who developed and democratized this music at the beginning of 1950s. He draws a lot of inspiration from rhythm and blues music.

Nowadays, we can say that Bill Haley has great success thanks to his music “Round Around the Clock”, written in 1955. This song was the first record to sell over one million copies in both Britain and Gernamy. Later, in 1957, Haley became the first major American rock singer to tour Europe and he continued to score hits throughout to 1950s such as “See You Later, Alligator”. He was 30 years old, and he was soon eclipsed in the United Sates by the younger, sexier… Elvis Presley.

I choose this artist because he belongs to another generation which lives without social media. Indeed, his Youtube videos don’t have a lot of views as U2 for example.

However, we can find on internet some blog written by specialists and probably fans of Bill Haley. This article shows the power of social media by studying the period when there was none.

Strange, but effective!

I don’t know what are you waiting for? Here is the link to paradise!

Can’t wait to have your feedback.
